How This Calculator Works
Calculation methodology and assumptions
Projected Revenue = Current Revenue × (1 + Growth Rate)^Years. CAGR (Compound Annual Growth Rate) shows the average annual growth rate over multiple years. The assumed annual growth rate is an input, not inferred from marketing. The displayed revenue-change/budget ratio divides the final annual revenue increase by cumulative marketing spending; it is neither causal advertising ROI nor cumulative revenue generated. No profit margin, campaign attribution or cash-flow timing is modeled.
Project a constant-rate annual revenue scenario
- 1
Choose a starting annual revenue
Use a complete year of revenue, not profit. Enter an assumed annual growth rate and the number of projection years.
- 2
Keep marketing as a separate budget
Monthly marketing spend is multiplied by twelve and by the projection years. Spending does not set or validate the growth assumption.
- 3
Interpret the last-year result
Projected revenue is the annual run rate in the final projection year. Revenue increase is its difference from the starting annual figure, not the sum of revenues earned during all years.
Read the inputs and reconcile the outputs
Illustration only: $100,000 starting annual revenue, a constant assumed 15% annual growth rate, five years and a separate $2,000 monthly marketing budget.
Compounding $100,000 × 1.15^5 gives $201,136.00 final-year annual revenue after rounding, an increase of $101,136.00 (101.1%).
Result: The separate five-year marketing budget is $120,000.00. Dividing the final annual revenue increase by that cumulative budget gives 0.84; this ratio is not causal advertising ROI, cumulative sales or profit.
What changes this estimate
Compounding
The selected rate repeats each year; actual revenue can move unevenly.
Marketing attribution
A budget entered beside a growth rate does not prove advertising generated any of the revenue change.
Limits and checks before acting
- Run conservative and optimistic scenarios using your own records. A constant rate is an assumption, not a forecast guarantee.
- This tool does not include margins, customer acquisition, capacity constraints, attribution or working capital.
- CAGR smooths a start-to-end change; it does not reveal the sequence of actual annual gains or losses.

Our editorial standardsFrequently Asked Questions
What is a good revenue growth rate?
This worksheet provides no verified industry target. Choose a rate from your own historical records or a clearly labeled scenario, and compare lower-growth and contraction cases separately. Revenue growth does not establish profitability or show that marketing caused the increase.
What is CAGR?
CAGR (Compound Annual Growth Rate) is the smoothed annualized growth rate over a period. It eliminates the effect of year-to-year fluctuations to show a clean growth trajectory. Formula: CAGR = (End Value / Start Value)^(1/years) - 1.
